by Neville Kennard, think tank veteran

Dear IPA Review Editor,

I congratulate you on publishing my essay questioning the effectiveness of Think Tanks. You entitled it, “Do think tanks still work?”

My title was, “Think Tanks Don’t Work”. I question whether they have ever worked; they are fundamentally flawed, in my view, because they don’t address the question of the very nature of The State, and of the right of people to Self-Ownership. IPA and its ilk take The State as a given.

Cory Bernardi, (a politician himself, so what else could we expect) defends The State and looks at the Think Tanks failure to convince people of the good ideas. This is the whole point, dear Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Supporting Families (what on earth is this?). You are part of the problem. A Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Supporting Families! What next?

So, IPA people, you have missed the point. You need to publish and offer more work on radical Libertarian ideas, on Anarcho-Capitalist ideas, on the idea of Self-Ownership; more work challenging the very legitimacy of The State and the right of Ministers for Supporting Families (and their Shadows) to even exist.

More work please IPA on Self-Ownership — a profound moral and ethical subject.
